worship as a family

"Praise the Lord! Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever." Psalm 106

Sing Songs of praise

Lutheran worship puts the focus squarely on Jesus Christ, who is present for us and with us through His Word (the Bible) and Sacraments (Baptism and Holy Communion). Through worship, we humbly offer Him thanksgiving and praise for all He has done for us.

The Bible tells us in Isaiah 12:5, “Sing praises to the Lord, for he has done gloriously; let this be made known in all the earth."

Music is a big part of our worship service here at CYPRESS CHAPEL. Our band is made up of musicians of all ages and experience levels, and all give their hearts fully to the Lord.

HOLy Communion

At CYPRESS CHAPEL, we share the Lord's Supper at every Sunday Service.

The apostles Matthew, Mark, Luke, and Paul wrote: 'Our Lord Jesus Christ, on the night when He was betrayed, took bread, and when He had given thanks, He broke it and gave it to the disciples and said: "Take, eat; this is my body which is given for you. This do in remembrance of Me." In the same way also, He took the cup after supper, and when He had given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, "Drink of it, all of you; this cup is the new testament in my blood which is shed for you for the forgiveness of sins. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me."'

In this Sacrament, The Lord's Supper, we receive a great treasure: the forgiveness of all our sins. Amen!

CHildren's Lesson

In Matthew 19:14, JESUS said: "Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven."

At CYPRESS CHAPEL, we include a short, age-appropriate message for the kids during every Sunday service that conveys the "kernel of truth" from the sermon. If they need to fidget, snack, or talk during worship, we don't mind at all. And we make sure that service proceeds in a timely manner to hold their (and your) attention.
As a mission plant of St. John Lutheran Church, CYPRESS CHAPEL was originally designed with the whole family in mind. Our ties to St. John Early Childhood Center go back to our beginning and continue to this day.

Our hope has always been that parents engage their children in conversations about their relationship with God, and model what living as a disciple of Jesus looks like.

The Lord's Prayer

Through prayer, we seek the only One who is able to answer the longings of our hearts;
the one who has created us, redeemed us by His Son, and sanctified us by His Spirit.

In Matthew 6:9-13, Jesus teaches his disciples how to pray (often called 'The Lord's Prayer'). CYPRESS CHAPEL prays The Lord's Prayer at every Sunday service:

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name,
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Baptism

In Matthew 28:19, Jesus says: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." This is called the Great Commission.

Occasionally, we are blessed with a baptism during service here at CYPRESS CHAPEL. Halleluiah! Holy Baptism provides the forgiveness of sins, rescues from death and the devil, and gives eternal salvation to all who believe. This is for all people, of all ages, at any time.

If you're interested in being baptized, please fill out the "Contact Us" form and our Pastor will be glad to reach out to you.
